Control Systems Engineer - MN

Summary

Design control systems to accomplish customer requirements which will automate manufacturing processes. The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design of control system details, instrumentation configuration, preparation for implementation, implementation, testing, documentation, and training. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming devices such as automation controllers using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control systems

  • Developing graphical Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems

  • Developing application code for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

  • Developing code for plant floor information systems

  • Working with the design team to prepare design drawings and specifications

  • Working as a member of a project team on projects that span the complete project life cycle

  • Commissioning final systems at manufacturing facilities

  • Managing projects and internal resources on project assignments

Requirements
  • Bachelors (or higher) degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the process control industry

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of programming concepts

  • Thorough knowledge of business application software (MS Office package)

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Displays a positive and professional demeanor

  • Demonstrates a flexible and cooperative working style

  • Willing to work off-hours when required

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Willing to submit to drug testing and/or background checks as mandated for a) employment, and b) customer contract requirements
